When it's really cold outside, you need something warm to eat, and chili is a great choice because on days like this some savory warm food will do wonders.
So, to get started here are all of your ingredients. -
47.5oz of Tomato soup
Cooking spray (preferably heat tolerant and all-purpose use)
14.5oz of diced tomatoes
15oz black beans
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 lbs. ground meat
Tools for success-
Pan
Turner
Spoon
Can opener
Spatula
Colander
Instructions-
Step 1- Get your meat out to thaw (you will need to do this several hours in advance).
Step 2- Gather the rest of your ingredients.
Step 3- (In order to keep your meat from burning it is a good idea to spray the inside of you pan with cooking spray) Then place the meat in your pan.
Step 4- Now you may begin to brown your meat. Place your pan on a burner and turn on the heat.
Step 5- Begin to tear the meat into small chunks with your turner.
Step 6- Continue to stir the meat so it doesn't burn. You want it to be a light brown without any pink.
Step 7- Once your meat is completed, turn the burner of so you concentrate on the next step without having to worry about your meat burning.
Step 8- Open the cans. (Be careful with the edges of the can lids, even though they are not knives they are still sharp and can cut.)
Step 9- Dump in your tomato soup and diced tomatoes.
Step 10- Now get out your colander and strain your black beans. If you want a cleaner looking chili, you can rinse the beans with cold water, but it doesn't really matter because the brine is just salt, water, and natural bean starch.
(Optional- Use more than one kind of bean for a more truly western feel.)
Step 11- Place the beans in the pot.
Step 12- Stir all of your ingredients together and place back on heat.
Step 13- Keep stirring for several minutes so it doesn't scorch.
Step 14- Put the chili powder in and stir it in.
(Optional- Use a little Cayenne Pepper for a hotter taste.)
Step 15- Keep on heat and stirring until it is at a boil.
Step 16- Serve warm with all of your favorite chili toppings.
Step 17- Now it is time to clean up. (If there are leftovers don't worry, it tastes great reheated the next day).
